Security & Data Protection
How KatterPrint protects your personal files, payments, and kiosk operations with zero-compromise security engineering.

1. User-Controlled File Deletion
Your document privacy is fundamental to our architecture. Any document or image you upload is used to render page previews and transmit print data to the printer. Shop owners cannot open, download, or keep a copy of the file.
After the job finishes, the file stays in your account until you delete it. There is no automatic 2-minute purge. Keep it for reprints, or remove it with one tap — deletion is always your choice.
2. Zero Kiosk Operator File Access
Printer kiosk owners and store operators have zero access to your files. The vendor admin dashboard only displays transactional metadata such as:
- Anonymous Order Reference ID
- Page count and color selection (B&W vs Color)
- Payment amount and transaction timestamp
- Print hardware completion status
Kiosk operators cannot download, read, inspect, or retain copies of any user document.
3. End-to-End Encryption & Protocol Security
- TLS 1.3 / SSL Encryption: All communication between the user's mobile device, web browser, cloud backend, and printer kiosks is encrypted with modern TLS 1.3 cryptographic protocols.
- Isolated Print Workers: Print rendering happens in memory-isolated sandbox containers that terminate upon job completion.
- Database Protection: User credentials are secure using salted bcrypt hashing. Access tokens use short-lived role-scoped JWTs.
- Secure Payment Compliance: Payment transactions are routed directly through certified gateways (Razorpay UPI). KatterPrint never stores UPI PINs, passwords, or financial credentials.
4. Hardware & Network Resilience
KatterPrint kiosks use direct encrypted network tunnels. If a printer loses connectivity, power, or paper midway through a print job, transactional queue locks prevent file corruption, and our automated watchdog immediately refunds 100% of the funds to the user's KatterPrint Points wallet.
